Bishop John Moolachira was born on Dec. 14, 1951 in Puthusserykadavu in the state of Kerala. He was ordained a priest on Oct. 23, 1978 in the diocese of Tezpur. He was appointed Bishop of Diphu on Feb. 14, 2007 and was ordained on April 15, 2007. Before becoming a prelate Bishop Moolachira was doing his higher studies in Rome. Presently, he is also the Chairman of the Commission for Health in North eastern Bishops council.
